We are sad to announce the passing of Patricia Susan Gibson (1969-2021).
Beloved daughter of Iona and the late Douglas Gibson. Beloved sister of siblings, Rob Gibson (Marlene), Garry Gibson (Penny), Cathy Marvin (Ed), Lynne Majore (Mike) and Laurie Gibson. Beloved aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Born October 27, 1969 with down syndrome. Tricia lived a wonderful simple life. All was well with Tricia as long as she had the Dukes of Hazard, Box Car Will and KFC. Tricia’s dance card was always open when her favourite music was playing, either with a dance partner, or all by herself. She loved going for a drive on the pontoon boat, or a backroad tour in the car. She loved outings at the arena to cheer on the Carleton Place Kings and the Canadians. She greeted everyone with a handshake. Tricia loved her life and all her friends at the group home where she lived for so many years.
Many thanks to all the wonderful caregivers at the group home that provided Tricia with a caring and loving home. A big thank you to Dr. Spooner, and the staff at the Carleton Place Hospital. Thank you to her old pal Dr. Marty White, who was the only doctor that Tricia would cooperate with.
There will be no service or visitation. There will be a celebration of Tricia’s life at a later date.
The family asks that donations be made to Community Living Association, Lanark County.
