Otto’s Obituary
It is with great sadness the family of Otto House announce his peaceful passing at the age of 74 at the Bonne Bay Health Centre, Norris Point with his loving family, wife Adelaide of 52 yrs., Son Norman (Dona) and pop’s girl Jessica. Otto was very fond of his granddaughter’s pets; pop’s old man, Cargo and Pariah.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his siblings; Reginald (Joyce), Bertha, Douglas jr., Linda (Lewis Patey), Rodney (Evelyn), Genevieve Payne and Juanita ( Clement Payne). In-laws; Nedean (Cyril Major), Doris Thorne, Gloria Perry, Rose Perry (Bryant Payne) and Shawn (Amelia) Perry. Also leaving to mourn are his nieces, nephews and other family and friends, sharing fond memories. Otto was predeceased by his mother Mary Alice and father Douglas House. Brother; Archibald, Sister-in-law’s; Amelia and Maureen House, brother-in-law’s; Henry Patey, Fred Bugden and Warren Payne. Mother-in-law; Winnifred Perry, father-in-law; Howard, brother-in-law’s; Andrew Perry, Enos Perry, Norman Perry and Barry Thorne.
Otto was a carpenter by trade. He worked as a fishery observer on the rivers then went on to pipe-fitting with various construction companies. Otto fished for 40 plus years then retired from the fishery in 2016. He was involved in the Harbour Authority of Daniel’s Harbour for 25 plus years.
Visitation will take place at the Church of Holy Cross in Daniel’s Harbour on Monday January 25th, 2021 from the hours of 8- 10 pm., with 25 visitors at a time. Each visitor must sign in with name and telephone number also where the funeral service will take place on Tuesday January 26th,2021 at 2pm. with Rev. Terry Rose officiating. Cremation will take place and inurnment will be held at a later date.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff at the Bonne Bay Health Centre for the loving and compassionate care they showed to our family during this difficult time. We would also like to thank the nurses at the chemo unit in Western Memorial Hospital for all your care and compassion during his sickness.
Please note all covid-19 protocols must be followed in accordance to the government regulations; Mandatory to wear a mask, stay six feet apart, no handshaking and sanitize hands. After you are seated you may remove your mask.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Palliative Care at the Bonne Bay Health Centre, Norris Point in Otto’s memory.
