It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Murray Gordon «Hugh» Miner, of Richmond Hill, on July 11th, 2021 at the age of 57.
Hugh had had amazing smile with a sense of humour that could make anyone laugh. He was kind hearted, generous to a fault, savagely loyal and fiercely independent. He was a very hard working cabinet maker by trade, and could work magic with his hands and the right tools – especially if that meant helping those he loved. Hugh was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many cherished camping trips with his friends and daughters – teaching many valuable life skills along the way. He loved to watch war movies and TV shows, especially Band of Brothers, which was a testament to his dedication to those around him.
Hugh is survived by his daughters: April (Rob) and Allison «Kirby»; his 6 grandchildren: Brody, Natalie, Lily, Alice, Darwin and Avery; his siblings: Anne (Olev), Gary (Katie), Ken (Michelle), Kathleen (Geoff) and Paul; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is predeceased by his parents: Clayton and Elizabeth; sister-in-law: Ann (Sweetman); brother-in-law: Stephen (Bray); niece: Heather (Bray) and the love of his life: Debbie (Young).
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that any donations to be made to: Rise Against Bullying, Autism Ontario or a charity of your choice.
Hugh didn’t like to say «Goodbye». So, as The Beatles sang «You say Goodbye, and I say Hello»…
