It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Murray Gordon « Hugh » Miner, of Richmond Hill, on July 11th, 2021 at the age of 57.
Hugh had had amazing smile with a sense of humour that could make anyone laugh. He was kind hearted, generous to a fault, savagely loyal and fiercely independent. He was a very hard working cabinet maker by trade, and could work magic with his hands and the right tools – especially if that meant helping those he loved. Hugh was an avid fisherman and enjoyed many cherished camping trips with his friends and daughters – teaching many valuable life skills along the way. He loved to watch war movies and TV shows, especially Band of Brothers, which was a testament to his dedication to those around him.
Hugh is survived by his daughters: April (Rob) and Allison « Kirby »; his 6 grandchildren: Brody, Natalie, Lily, Alice, Darwin and Avery; his siblings: Anne (Olev), Gary (Katie), Ken (Michelle), Kathleen (Geoff) and Paul; many nieces, nephews and extended family. He is predeceased by his parents: Clayton and Elizabeth; sister-in-law: Ann (Sweetman); brother-in-law: Stephen (Bray); niece: Heather (Bray) and the love of his life: Debbie (Young).
In lieu of flowers, his family asks that any donations to be made to: Rise Against Bullying, Autism Ontario or a charity of your choice.
Hugh didn’t like to say « Goodbye ». So, as The Beatles sang « You say Goodbye, and I say Hello »…
