Monica’s Obituary
DOUCET, Monica – Age 54 of Lake Doucette, passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital with her daughter by her side. Born in Yarmouth, she was a daughter of Emile and the late Yvonne (Deveau) Doucet.
Monica was fun-loving and enjoyed life. She loved going to Mavillette Beach, taking family vacations to Moncton or Maine; going to the Yarmouth Mariners games and watching NHL hockey; and -not to mention- Pepsi, rappie pie and iced capps. She loved their sweet cat, Peaches. She was a loyal Tim Hortons employee from 1989 until her initial illness in January 2019, just at the beginning of her 30th career year. She loved seeing people in the drive-thru every day and she was adored by her customers.
She is survived by her daughter, Caitlin Doucet (Eric), Lake Doucette; and brother, Matthew, New Glasgow.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. Visitations will be on Monday, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. where Covid-19 Provincial Regulations will be followed.
Due to current Covid-19 pandemic regulations, a private funeral mass will be held in St. Alphonse Church, St. Alphonse with a private burial in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Salmon River.
Donations may be made to the Terry Fox Foundation, La Baie SPCA, or to a charity of your choice.
A special thanks to Dave Arenburg for going above and beyond what any former employer would ever do, we are so grateful for everything you did for her. Also, thanks to everyone who helped with rides to appointments; as well as all the doctors, nurses, VON and homecare for all the care and support she received. Monica will be deeply missed by her daughter, Caitlin, who she loved very much, and she will be remembered forever.
