Michael Robert Pallant

Michael Robert Pallant, age 87, loving husband, father and grandfather, golfer, chorister, stamp collector, volunteer, Liverpool supporter and occasional grumpy old man, died peacefully on Sunday, June 6, 2021.
Mike was born in Hackney, London in 1933 but grew up in Yorkshire leading to his lifelong love of the city of York and the Yorkshire Dales. After graduating from St. Peter’s School in York and completing military service, he joined Marks & Spencer and enjoyed a long and successful career with the firm. He retired in 1987 after a transfer to Canada in 1976 where he settled with his family in Oakville. He enjoyed an active retirement golfing, traveling widely, performing for, and serving as President of the Canadian Orpheus Male Choir, volunteering for the Cancer Society, as a member of Probus and was on the board of Community Living Oakville Foundation.
Mike met the love of his life, Ann, in 1959. They married in 1960 and enjoyed 61 years together. He was the proud father of Tim, Jeremy and Penny.
Mike is predeceased by his brother David and survived by his sister Jen. In addition to his wife and children, he is also survived by daughters-in-law Dayna and Paola, grandchildren Dan, Chris, Brendan, Kate, JT, Magda and Catu, nephews and nieces Nick, Jane, Samantha and Nicola and Ann’s sister Sue and her husband David.
A private family “Celebration of Life” will be held in lieu of a memorial. Donations may be made in Mike’s name to Community Living Oakville.
