It is with deep sadness we the family, announce the passing of Melissa Nancy Carroll of Moncton and formerly of Bathurst at the age of 41 on July 22, 2021, at the Moncton Hospital.
Born in Bathurst, Melissa was the daughter of Wayne and Clara (Russell) Carroll and granddaughter of the late Harry and Evelyn Russell and the late Blair and Dora Carroll.
Melissa received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dalhousie University and was employed at the Moncton Hospital. She studied piano throughout her school years.
She was a member of the Codiac Concert Band where she played saxophone. She was also an avid reader, loved kayaking, photography and loved to travel, especially to Ireland and Scotland.
Although Melissa was challenged for four years with cancer, she always had a positive attitude towards life and the future.
Melissa was a kind and gentle person and will be sadly missed by her parents, her black lab Abbey, whom she loved to take for walks. She will also be missed by many aunts and uncles: Audrey and Denis White of Bathurst, Bob and Allyson Russell of Ottawa, Don and Barbara Carroll of Fredericton and Mac & Joanne Russell of Bathurst. Cousins: Sean and Sally White, Heather White, Aaron Russell, Adam Russell all of Bathurst and Jeffrey and Jennifer White of Fredericton as well as many friends.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Funeral service for Melissa will be held on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, from the First United Church, 309 St. Patrick St, Bathurst, NB at 2 p.m. Please confirm your attendance by calling (506) 380 – 2920.
Donations in memory of Melissa may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Dr. Sheldon Rubin Oncology Clinic, the Oncology Department (4200) of the Moncton Hospital for the kindness, care and compassion given to Melissa. A special thank you to Dr. M.M. Salem and Dr. D. Mukherjee.
