J. Brian McMullan (1934-2021)
One month shy of his 87th birthday, Brian died peacefully at the Château Westmount LT-Care Residence on June 24th, 2021 where he had been a resident for the prior six years. Brian is mourned by his four children and their spouses, Jim (Danielle), Sara Jane (Douglas), Margot (Dave) and Matthew (Patricia), his ten grandchildren, Thomas (Charlotte), Charlie, Peter (Cassidy), Christo, Jeremy (Stéphanie), Jasmine, Bobby, Léa and Mark, and his newborn great-grandchild, Jackie. He will also be missed by Peggy, his wife of 27 years. Brian was predeceased by his beloved siblings, Dolores, Jack, Anne and Emmett, and his former partner, Suzanne Morin.
Brian was a Loyola man and athlete, attending Loyola High School and then graduating from Loyola College in 1955, all the while playing varsity football and hockey, among other sports. He then went on to study law at McGill University, was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1959 and then embarked on a career as a lawyer and partner with Lafleur, Brown, de Grandpré until he retired.
The family wishes to especially recognize and thank the Second-Floor staff at Château Westmount for their exemplary care and devotion to «Mr. Brian.» The thoughts, stories, and prayers you shared with us over his final days and hours will long be cherished.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honour of Brian to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
Funeral services will be held at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish, 4455 West Broadway on Monday, August 16th, 2021, at 11 am, with interment thereafter at Notre-Dame-des-Neiges Cemetery.
