Solomon (Assinabe) – Mary Lorraine of Sagamok passed away peacefully in her home on October 12, 2021 at the age of 93. Dear daughter of the late Alex and Elizabeth (nee McLeod) Assinabe. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Solomon. Loving mother of Doris (Earl), Lawrence (Alma-Jean), John (Janet), Bentley (Sandy predeceased), Norma (partner Mike), Mary (partner Calvin) all of Sagamok. Ray Solomon of Toronto. Josephine, Benny and Judy all predeceased. Cherished by 24 grandchildren, Virginia, Samantha, Adam, Terri, Tiffany, Alexandra, Casey, Amanda, Brandon, Lawrence Jr, Jason, Vincent, Tony, Aaron, Jolene, Charlotte, Miles, Joel, Alicia, Lewis, Justin, Lance, Ryan and Rosemary and 48 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Dear sister of Evelyn Trudeau of Sault Ste. Marie and the late Raymond Assinabe. Survived by sister in laws Marilyn Southwind, Mary Wemigwans and Trisha Hajt. Lorraine was an outgoing and fun-loving woman who enjoyed playing bingo, cards, puzzles, step-dancing, gardening, hunting/skinning, knitting, cooking and taxi driving. She will be deeply missed by family and friends. She was also a residential school survivor.
Visitation will start on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 6 pm at the New Community Centre, Sagamok. Funeral Service on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 2 pm Arrangements by BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME Ltd, Espanola.
