Mary Linda CARDIFF (Arsenault) — Prospect Bay
Born December 8, 1951 in Halifax, Linda entered Heaven on July 13, 2021 surrounded by her husband and family after a courageous seven month battle with cancer. She leaves her husband of 33 years, Mark Andrew Cardiff, Prospect Bay. One of three loving daughters of Prince Edward Islanders, the late Ernest and Ursula Arsenault (of Halifax), Linda was the youngest of their “three pearls”. Linda is survived by sisters, Lorraine MacKinnon (Don, deceased) of Dartmouth; and Barbara Calnen (Robert) of Halifax; brother-in-law, Richard Cardiff, and sister-in-law, Elaine Stevens of Ottawa, Ont. Linda will be missed by four nieces, four nephews, four grand-nieces, two grand-nephews; and many dear cousins throughout the Atlantic provinces, Ontario and British Columbia. After a 45 year career in retail at Eaton’s, Sears, and the Bay, Linda enjoyed her retirement in beautiful Prospect Bay. She so loved the scent of salt air and wild roses on her many walks along the High Head trail overlooking the Atlantic ocean with her husband and her beloved fur-baby, “Soda” pup, her little Parson Russell terrier. Linda cherished her childhood memories of summer vacations visiting her wonderful grandparents and relatives in Prince Edward Island. Her husband and family give deep felt thanks to all who extended their kindness, generosity, help, care, and love to Linda during her illness, especially Michelle Ball, Pat De Meo, Mary DeWolfe, Ellen Gibling, Marcia Marcoux, Linda and Andrew Mitchell. We are grateful and give thanks for the love and spiritual care given to Linda and her husband by Rev. Cheryl Rafuse and Rev. Michael Tutton. We thank the doctors, nurses, and medical staff of the Victoria General Hospital for their care and compassion, especially nurse Shelley, and Linda’s family physician, Dr. Jeff Colp. The funeral service celebrating the life of Linda will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 24th, in Saint Timothy’s Anglican Church, 2320 Prospect Rd., Hatchet Lake, with social distancing and masks. Due to pandemic regulations the service in the church is limited to a maximum of 50 consisting of clergy, family members, and invited guests. An additional 25 seats are provided in the church hall for overflow. Donations in Linda’s memory are welcome to be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Linda taught us love and forgiveness by the way she lived her life. We shall be apart for now my love but by the grace of God we shall be together again. Rest In Peace my darling Linda. You are forever loved and remembered by us all.
