Mary Bella Sock
1939-2021
ELSIPOGTOG, NB – Mary Bella Sock 81, of Elsipogtog
passed away peacefully at the Stella Maris Hospital in
Ste-Anne-de-Kent on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Born in
Rexton, she was the daughter of the late John T. Peters and late
Barbara (Simon) Peters.
Mary Bella «Mamma Gulsas» along with her late
husband Peter «Gulsas» devoted time to their children to
excel in sports such as hockey and ball. They made a team
with a goalie, pitcher, offense, defense and even
cheerleaders.
The education of her children was very important to her and
she lovingly fostered Jason Daniel Augustine, Matthew Clair, Chailo
(Francis) Sark, Bradley Clair and Ella Augustine. She served
her community and they honored her with «Mom of the Decade»
and most of all she was cherished by her family and this is a great
loss for them.
Mary Bella will be sadly missed by her two daughters, Eva
Wilmot (Albert) of Listuguj, QC, Marjorie Ann «Maree» Sock
of Elsipogtog; eight sons, Clifford Sock (Cindy), Floyd Sock
(Christine), Herbie Sock, Bobby Sock (Lauralee), Elmer Sock (Fay),
Marven Sock,(Cindy), Travis Sock (Martha), Mark Sock (Kachina) all of
Elsipogtog; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great
great granddaughter, Joy.
She is also survived by four sisters, Lucida Milliea (late
Joe Henry), Elizabeth Levi, Barbara Ann Milliea (late Arnold),
Mary-Jane Peters all of Elsipogtog and many nieces, nephews and
Godchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Peter D. Sock; one son, Malcolm «Coco»; sisters,
Stella, Marjorie and brothers, Bouncer (Abraham), Lawrence, Frank
John, Andrew Peters Jr. and two infant brothers that were buried in
Maine.
Visitation will begin for the public on Saturday at 7:00 pm,
139 Levi Street, Elsipogtog until time of the funeral. A
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 6, 2021 at 10:30
am at St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Church in
Elsipogtog.
