Obituary
RYLAND, Marguerite Eileen
We are sad to announce the passing of our mother Marguerite Eileen Ryland (nee McColl) on June 6, 2021 at the Eston Health Centre. She was predeceased by her husband Charles Ryland in 2016 after 69 years of marriage.
Mom was born in North Battleford in 1926 to Gladys and Duncan McColl. In 1933 her family moved to Saskatoon where she took her schooling, then after graduating attended Saskatoon Business College, and on to working for Purity Dairy until 1947 when she married Dad. They travelled from Saskatoon to Plato where they farmed and back to Saskatoon to work for the winter. In 1952 they stopped travelling back and forth and became full time farmers.
The city was always in Mom’s heart, so when retiring from farming they moved back to Saskatoon. After Dad’s passing, she moved to Preston Park 2 and then to Eston Health Centre for her last month.
Mom is survived by 2 sons and 3 daughters, Ray (Marj) and family, Trudy (Gerald) and family, Carol (Sterling) and family, Barry and family, Chris (Glenn) and family, 15 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and her sister-in-law Jean Mitchell (Ryland).
Donations may be made in Mom’s name to the Saskatoon Salvation Army. A Private Family Burial will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 14, 2021 with live-streaming available, or to view at a later date at: www.faithproducitons.ca/livestream
