Margaret Eileen (Matchett) Kay,
88, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 12, 2021
at Thomas Hall, Shannex Parkland, Fredericton, New
Brunswick.
Born in Curventon, January 6,
1933, she is the daughter of the late May (Bell) and James Matchett.
Margaret grew up in the Miramichi near Curventon and always had a love
for her home and the river. She graduated from the Moncton Hospital
School of Nursing in 1954 and worked her entire life caring for
others. She loved spending time with friends, especially the Mount
Royal Blvd. neighborhood ladies. She enjoyed camping in her trailer,
travelling, and cooking. Above all, she enjoyed her time with family;
her beloved husband Don, children, grandchildren, and
great-grandchildren.
Margaret was predeceased by her
loving husband, Donald. She will be sadly missed by her children,
David (Dorothy) Kay of Nanimo, BC; Donna (Dana) Beers of Moncton;
Dianne (Pierre Plourde) of Fredericton; her loving grandchildren,
Amanda, Sarah (Adam Hamilton) , Jennifer, and Michael (Coco-Monet
Cecil), and great-grandchildren , Nova and
Ellington.
The family wishes to extend
their gratitude to the staff at Thomas Hall, Shannex Parkland,
Fredericton for their exemplary care, and kindness shown to Margaret
and her family.
Visitation at Fergusons Funeral
Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995) on Friday, September 17,
2021 from 1:00 to 1:30 pm. Followed immediately by a Celebration of
Life Service at 1:30 pm. Reception following the service. Interment in
Fair Haven Memorial Gardens.
In memory of Margaret, donations
can be sent to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital, Mount Royal United
Church, Alzheimer’s Society or a memorial of the
