Margaret Dorothy Siegel (nee Grife)
Passed away peacefully at the age of 98, on September 8, 2021 at the Pembroke Regional Hospital.
It is with true sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret who started a new journey on September the 8th. This angel was the loving wife of 50 years to the late Walter Siegel and beloved mother of Paula (Paul) Mainprize, Arnprior and Don (Diane) Siegel, Pembroke. Cherished and lovingly remembered by her granddaughter April Mainprize (Graham), Toronto and grandson Ryan Siegel (Bronwyn), Toronto. She will be dearly missed by her sister Ruth Crigger, Pembroke, nieces, nephews and all who knew and loved her. Predeceased by her daughter Debra Hessel, sister Violet Reckzin and brothers Verner, Lorne (Lola), Jerry (Madge) and Percy. Daughter of the late Adolph Grife and Louise Sell.
Margaret was a charter member of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church and a dedicated volunteer for several years at St. Joseph’s Food Bank. She will be remembered for her independent spirit, her love of travel and reading, playing cards and gardening. Margaret always appreciated the varied wildlife sightings from her much loved home on the Ottawa River.
Her journey in life on earth has ended but she will remain in our hearts forever.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Margaret with her family during visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Tuesday September 14 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday September 14, at 11:00 a.m. in St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church 503 Alfred Street. Interment Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
Space is limited COVID Protocols must be observed and masks must be worn in the Funeral Home and the Church. Please RSVP your intention to attend.
