Maida Altounian passed away peacefully at the age of 92. She was born in Alexandria, Egypt and immigrated to Canada in 1963.
Predeceased by her husband Vahé Altounian. Survived by her sons Ara (Rachel), Alain (Carole), her grandchild Valerie (Zac), her sister Doris George (Robert), and all her close family and friends.
Although Maida was unable to attend her granddaughter’s wedding, Valerie had a very special place in her heart. One of Maida’s memorable moments was her trip to Armenia. Maida worked at Mappins, Birks and Ogilvy and enjoyed jewelry sales and in helping others find their special treasures.
A memorial service will be held in Troy, New York at the Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Church (at a later date).
