Obituary for
Lorne Leslie Norman Day
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Lorne Leslie Norman Day, on March 21,
2021 at the age of 84. Lorne was born on April 4, 1936 in Edmonton, Alberta to John and
Eleanor Day. Lorne grew into an ambitious young man and went on to accomplish much
throughout his life. He graduated as a chartered accountant, from there he went into the life
insurance business. He then became somewhat of an entrepreneur. Loving every minute of
making the deal. He was an avid chess player. Second to his wife was his love of art. Travelling
the world with his wife filled his heart with happiness and many stories to tell his grand kids or
anyone who would listen. «see you at the bull fights».
Lorne is survived by his devoted wife, Veronica Day. His children Jeff Day, Janet Will and
Armand Day. Mother of his children, Sylvia Elizabeth. His stepchildren, Tony Haydon (Courtney),
Lisa Dalman (Troy), Tyler Haydon (Carrie). Grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren, Andrew, Mason,
Mathew, Allyson, Katy and Robin. His step-grandchildren, AJ (Jordana), Mikayla (Dustin), Trinity, Jackson, Maddox, Maverick, Zoey and great-grandchildren, Rylen, Aria and Nova. His brothers, Jim (Gaynel) and Gary (Sandy). Predeceased by his parents; brother, Don; sisters, Jacquie and Jeanette.
He will be missed by the entire Lesser Family whom he had become a much loved member of,
as well as many other relatives and friends.
Lorne loved and lived his life on his own terms. So when you think of my «big guy in the sky»
toast him with a wee glass of scotch.
There will be a celebration of his life at a later date.
