PAQUETTE, Linda Carol (nee: MacKinnon)
It is with deep sorrow and much love we mourn the passing of Linda Carol Paquette (nee: MacKinnon) of Thorhild, Alberta on February 14th, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
She is survived by her children Allen MacKinnon and Melodi MacKinnon, five grandsons, and her sister Jean Madlung (Henry).
She was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Larry Paquette, brothers Gordon and Rod, and her parents, Joseph and Catherine.
Linda was a strong, intelligent women, who loved and defended her family. She was born in Pendryl and raised in Whitecourt. Her lifelong sorrow was her father’s passing when she was only five years old. She farmed side by side with her husband for many years, in many capacities, throwing and stacking bales, feeding cattle, pulling calves from those “open heifers” Larry bought, and nursing him through several years of health issues. Between all this she returned to school and graduated from NAIT as a hairstylist. She had her own business for several years and loved it. In her later years she assisted her children to start Rafter LC Goats.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in Linda’s name to Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters, 10310 Jasper Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T5J 2W4.
Allen and Melodi wish to send a very special thank you to the EMT’s, paramedics, Home Care staff, and the staff at the Redwater Hospital who provided such wonderful, compassionate care in her last months.
