SAUNDERS, Lillian Joyce – age 88, of Dayton, Nova Scotia, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2021, at the Villa St. Joseph du Lac. Born in Yarmouth on September 12, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Keith and Betty (Horton) Wyman. Lillian was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved her family dearly. She was the type of person who never had anything bad to say about anybody and was always there to lend a helping hand when needed. In her early years, she worked at Little Palace Restaurant on John Street. After meeting her husband Howard, she retired from the restaurant and was a stay-at-home mom who raised and cared for their children. In her spare time, she loved to be outside and work in the garden. Lillian also loved to go for “short” drives with her husband that always turned into full-day excursions. She also loved watching the Toronto Blue Jay’s. She is survived by her loving husband, Howard; daughter, Debra (Clifford) Hogarth, Ontario; sons, Joseph (Florence), Ontario; Michael (Roberta), Ontario; Larry, Ontario; sister, Phyllis Fougere; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her son, Mark; daughter, Barbara-Ann; siblings, John and Hilda. Cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A private interment will take place in Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Salvation Army in Yarmouth or the Villa St. Joseph du Lac. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Villa St Joseph for their excellent and thoughtful care.
