It is with deep sorrow that the family of the late Lewis «Lew» Gordon Mitchell announces his passing. Lewis passed peacefully away at the Carmelite House, Grand Falls-Windsor, NL on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021 at the age of 67 years.
Lewis is predeceased by his parents – Robert & Lydia Mitchell; parents-in-law – John & Mary Saunders; siblings – Chesley Mitchell, Mina Matthews, Violet Saunders, Eleazar Mitchell and William Mitchell; brother-in-law – Garland Winsor and sister-in-law – Maureen Dicks.
Left to cherish a lifetime of incredible memories is his wife of 46 years – Janice Mitchell; children – Ricky Mitchell (Rona) & Renee Mitchell; grandchildren – Mateo Mitchell, Isabella Mitchell, Elijah Walsh and Jacob Mitchell; siblings – Maisie Robinson (Bryce) and Eileen Winsor; siblings-in-law – Kathleen Bhat (Din) and Muriel Grieve (Bobby) as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and an incredibly large circle of friends.
Due to the COVID-19 Global Pandemic, the Public Health Advisory and associated restrictions, we regret to announce that there will be no Public Visitation or Public Funeral Service. Pastor Craig Lane, assisted by Pastor Darrin Rowe will conduct a Private Family Funeral Service at Foster Funeral Home, 22 Main Street, Baie Verte, NL on Tuesday, April 6th, 2021. Interment will take place at Faith Pentecostal Cemetery, Mills’ Cove.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Lew’s memory to the Janeway Children’s Health and Rehabilitation Centre, 300 Prince Philip Dr, St. John’s, NL, A1B 3V6
