It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Hero, Father & Papa. He fought courageously in true Leonard style a 4-1/2 year battle with cancer. Most important to him was always his family and although so difficult to accept our final parting, he passed peacefully in the loving arms of his 3 daughters at Headwaters Health Care Centre on Thursday, September 21, 2021 at the age of 80. He will be ‘forever and a day’ be missed and admired by his children: Kim Massis, Korry Szabo (Robert) and Tracy Brown. Cherished Papa to Dylan, Jacob, Joshua, Zachary, Janet, David and Jackson. Beloved brother of Kenny (Marg) and Lloyd. Predeceased by his parents Carl & Sally Brown of New Toronto and his siblings Bernice, Barbara, June, Joyce, Dianna, Frank and Donald. He will also be tremendously missed by the many nieces and nephews he loved dearly. «Wherever you lay your hat, Dad, is where we call home»
Visitation will be held at the Dods & McNair Funeral Home, Chapel & Reception Centre, 21 First St., Orangeville on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. followed by burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. A Reception will be held afterwards at the funeral home.
RSVP is required to attend.
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
A tree will be planted in memory of Leonard in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville.
