1955-2021
BETSCHART, Leo Anton –
Age 65, Cleveland, Richmond Co., passed away peacefully
at home on Saturday, April 17, 2021, with his wife Edith at his side.
Born in Zug, Switzerland, Leo was the son of Pia (Schuler) Betschart
(of Switzerland) and the late Leo Betschart.
While living in Switzerland, Leo worked as a farmer, besides
his job as a sales representative in agriculture. In June of 2011, he
and his wife Edith, immigrated to Canada and settled in Cleveland.
Since living here Leo had worked on a deer farm and for the last two
years had worked with a land developer before his
illness.
Besides his mother, Leo is survived by his wife, Edith
Betschart; daughters, Susan, Doris (Meini); sons, Leo Jr., Pascal,
Dominik; grandchildren, Celina, Julian, Melanie and Alexandra and one
due in 3 weeks, all of Switzerland; sisters, Monika, Pia; brothers,
Robert, Peter, Edwin, all of Switzerland. Leo was predeceased by his
daughter Patricia in 2016.
Visitation for friends to attend will be held from 2-4 and
6-8 p.m. on Tuesday in Dennis Haverstock Funeral Home, Port
Hawkesbury. Cremation will follow. Words of comfort may be forwarded
