Obituary of Lena Marie Redekopp
It is with great sadness that the family of Lena Redekopp (née Flikweert) announces her passing on Thursday, June 10, 2021 in Regina SK, at the age of 68.
Born in Glenboro MB, Lena spent 33 years in Swift Current, SK, where she raised three sons and worked as a lab technician at Swift Current Union Hospital. Upon retiring, she moved to Regina, where she enjoyed gardening, reading, walking, and being a very active Oma.
Lena was happiest when surrounded by family, especially her adoring grandchildren. A loyal friend and sister, trusted aunt, and beloved mother to both her sons and their wives, her passing will be greatly mourned by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Walter Redekopp. Lena is survived by her three sons, Brian (Bronwyn) of Montreal, QC, Dwayne (Aaron) of Calgary, AB, and Scott (Alexandra) of Pilot Butte, SK; eight grandchildren, Kayden, Josalyn, Jack, Reese, Jonah, Pearce, Luke, and Monroe; and two sisters, Arine Roszell (Dave) of Regina, SK and Cathy Flikweert (Mike Evans) of Victoria, BC.
A small graveside service will be held in Regina at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be made in her name to the Regina Public Library.
