It is with our deepest sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Leila Aghdasi, on Tuesday, December 7th, 2021. We will miss her love, kindness, steadfastness and sense of dignity.
Leila was born on September 1st, 1932, in Yazd, Iran. After marrying her husband Hedayat, Leila journeyed to Abhar, a small city in northwest Iran, where she would live as pioneers with her husband and children for the next 9 years. In 1965 her family moved to Shiraz. The Islamic Revolution of 1979 proved hard for Leila as, many Baha’is became the target for the wrath of revolutionaries. Thus did Leila bear witness to destruction of her home at the hands of Islamic radicals. Finally, in 2001, she relocated to Canada with a view to spending the rest of her days with her sons, who with one exception had settled there.
Our mother was a loving and caring woman of faith as well as a kind mother, devoted wife, and adored grandmother.
She is survived by their six children: Ata (Teresita), Aman (Rose), Nosrat (Mahnaz), Anise (Azita), Bahador (Negar), and Vahid (Bahareh), fifteen grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren who will forever cherish her memory.
