Shepherd, Larry “Shep”
Retired-Police Officer, Metropolitan Toronto Police, 52 Division for 32 years.
Died peacefully on Wednesday April 7, 2021 at Campbell House Hospice, Collingwood at the age 78. Shep of Wasaga Beach, Uncle Larry to the three Miller boys Jamie, Larry and Bill and Great Uncle Larry to some of his younger nephews. His daughter Lindsay always had a very special place in his heart. Larry loved to play Texas Hold ‘em poker and spent hours playing cards with his sister Pat on his deck. Even though he had a rough exterior, Larry was always ready to help anyone in need and he continuously managed to bump into strangers that he would lend a helpful hand to. Generally a friendship would follow. Nature was a huge part of Larry’s days. He spent countless hours feeding and cleaning up after critters that called his yard home. In return they entertained him. Cardinals were special. A pair of cardinals he named Romeo and Juliet visited regularly. They even brought their little ones. Larry will be missed by many. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Larry’s life will take place at a later date. If desired, a donation to your local food bank would be a fitting remembrance of Larry.
