Peacefully in hospital with family at her side on Thursday December 2, 2021, Kay Rutledge at the age of 82. Beloved wife and best friend of Ernest G. Rutledge for 50 years. Much loved mother of Kelly Hewitt (Jim), Dan Gray (Katie), Laurie Rutledge and also Tamara Rutledge, adored Grandma of 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Harvey Monahan (Louise), Bonnie Mackie (late Gerald) and the late Elsie (late Oswald McRostie), Carmen Monahan (late Velma), Edna Carnegie (late Wally) and chosen sister the late Shirley Eastman (Allan). Loved daughter of the late Jim and Margaret Monahan. Kay will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and the Rutledge family. A special thank-you to the caring and compassionate nursing team on 7F at Civic Hospital. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Daley Family Funeral Home, 6971 Bank St. from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Tuesday, December 7. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, December 8 at 11 am in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Scleroderma Society of Ontario, 41 King William St #202, Hamilton, ON L8R 1A2 or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

The family asks that all visitors to the funeral home be fully vaccinated and bring proof of vaccination and appropriate identification.
