Obituary of Kathleen Mildred Banfield
BANFIELD, Kathleen Mildred – age 79 of Lantz, passed away on July 18, 2021 in Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. She put up a brave fight with dementia for the last 5 years. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Evelyn (Judge) Probert.
Kathleen was a caregiver for many children over the last 30 years. She loved to bake and make arts and crafts. She especially loved spending time in her garden with her beautiful flowers. She had the best green thumb ever and she loved her family dearly.
She is survived by her children, Donna (Don) Foss, ON, Robert (Kathy), Stewiacke, Carol (Tony Power), Lantz, Michael (Sherry), Rawdon, Mark (Carrie), ON; brothers, Jim (Joanne), Roddy (Nancy); sisters, Pam, Heather (John); 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin and grandson, Joshawa Power.
Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held 2pm Sunday, July 25, 2021 in Ettinger Funeral Home, 2812 Highway 2, Shubenacadie. Rev. Gerry Kerr officiating.
