Kate Lynn VanTassell
1956-2021
Kate Lynn VanTassell, nee Kathryn Lynn Butler, age 65 of
Waterville, passed away peacefully with her family by her
side.
She was predeceased by her son, Billy Noble; her parents,
Bill and Gloria Butler (nee MacDonald) and most recently by her great
friend Bonnie Kelly.
Kate was fearless. She was strong, independent and
supportive. She was a trusted friend and a cherished mother. Her
legacy is the love she bestowed upon her family. Her natural gift for
finding the fun in life was magnetic. She was nurturing and loving and
accepted everyone, as is, without judgement. She always considered the
needs of others above her own and she inspired people to be better
versions of themselves. Our hope is to pass her legacy to our own
children and foster children. Kate had a passion for photography and a
love for Van Morrison.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jerry; her children,
Alex, Taryn (Mark), Dustyn, Kayce (Chris) and James; grandchildren,
Mitchell, Stuart, Ty, Maisie and Milo; siblings, April (Lorne), Tony,
Johnny (Galen) and Mark (Mary); many nieces, nephews and cousins as
well as the many children that she fostered for nearly 30 years –
particularly J and J.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later
date.
Donations can be made to a local foodbank. The family would
like to thank the Annapolis Valley VON and Kyla Harris for her
kindness.
