The death of Joseph Laurie Richard husband of Mary Iris F. (King) Richard of Chatham Head, NB, occurred on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at the age of 82. Born in Acadiaville, NB, he was the son of the late Francois and Angeline (Daigle) Richard. Laurie was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church and retired from Burchill’s Plywood Mill. Laurie was a 4th Degree Knight as well as past president of the Chevaliers de Colomb- Conseil 13120 Père Alfred Landry.
Besides his wife: Iris, Laurie is survived by: daughters: Edna Richard and Annette Richard both of Miramichi, NB; Denise Comeau (Louis) of Fredericton, NB; sisters: Lorette Boisvert (the late France); Angel Beaulieu (the late Anthony) all of Miramichi, NB; Ozelie Boudreau (the late Paul) of Nova Scotia; Merina Hachey (Lawrence) of Miramichi, NB; sister-in-law: Anne Marie Bourque of Miramichi, NB; brother-in-law: Ronald Barrieau of Miramichi, NB; two grandchildren: Alyssa and Brody Comeau as well as many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Laurie is predeceased by: son: Norman; granddaughter: Amy Tenass; brother: Jean and sister: Julianna Barrieau.
The family will receive visitors at Bell’s Funeral Home on Friday, November 26, 2021 from 6-9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Chatham Head on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11 AM with Father John Beaumaster officiating. Burial will take place in St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.
