The family of John William (Jack) Holan is saddened to announce his passing on February 3, 2021 at the age of 93 years.
Simply stated, Jack was a kind, honest and forthright person. He was intelligent and talented in all sorts of endeavours. But above all else, Jack cherished his family immensely. We should all aspire to live our lives as Jack did.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Eric (Cindy), Arlene (Rick), Lloyd (Judy), Gary (Lisa), his nine grandchildren: Lisa (Sheldon), Dale (Charmaine), Danny (Sarah), Chelsea (Clint), Nick, Jack, Madison, Will and Kate, and six great-grandchildren: Aeden, Brennen, AJ, Olivia, Caroline and Hunter, brothers: Fred (Barbara) and Henry (Beryl). Jack was predeceased by his loving wife, Caroline, two grandsons: Joey and Matthew, parents, John and Magnhild, and brother, Robert. Jack was also predeceased by his second wife, Oli.
A private family mass will be held at OLPH Catholic Church on February 11, 2021 with internment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to Morgan and the staff of Royal Alexandra Hospital for their dedication, care, and compassion. Memorial donations in Jack’s name may be made to Royal Alexandra Hospital, 10240 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton T5H 3V9 or to Strathcona Community Hospital, 9000 Emerald Drive, Sherwood Park, AB T8H 0J3.
