Dearly missed by his children Marie and Jeff Bedard of Goderich, Anne and Roland L’Ecuyer of Burlington, and John Jr. and Anna Brand of R.R. #3, Clinton, grandchildren Heather, Adam and Jacqueline Bedard, Sam, Jacob and Natalie L’Ecuyer, and Jeb, Janey, Lukas, Andreas and Matthias Brand, and great-granddaughter Brianna Brand. Special dad to Sandra Bell and Tina Metske (Bell). Brother to Sister Marie Brand, Gilbert and Anne Brand, Paul and Mary Brand, and Corrie Kehoe, brother-in-law to Toni Brand, Marie and Bob Young. Predeceased by brothers and sister-in-laws Jack, Case and Corrie, Goff and Dinie, Bill, Martin and Ruth, Adrian, Pat Kehoe, Suzanne Kirnbauer, Claire and Dave Parker, also special grandson Brandon Metske. Missed by many, many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours.
Ever confident in his God given skills and the strength of his own hands, this humble farmer and carpenter approached life, and what it presented, with a quiet grace and dignity. Content with who he was and what he possessed, he was never one who sought to impress and yet did so immensely with all who came to know him. Dad nurtured his soil, livestock, trees, lumber and above all the beautiful love of his wife Margaret, his family, friendships and his caregivers with caring, patience, whit and always an abundance of kindness. His family was raised firm but fair, love, support and pride ever evident. A practical example that the best way through life is just get at what’s in front of you, problem solve as needed and find some humour in everything.
A public funeral service will be held at Falconer Funeral Homes – Bluewater Chapel, 201 Suncoast Drive, East, Goderich on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Father Matthew George officiating.
