1952-2021
MEAGHER, John Bernard
– 68, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 18, 2021, at
home with family on «Happy Hill», Guysborough Co.
Son of Annie (Peebles) Meagher and the late Bernard Meagher of Pirate
Harbour. John retired after a 33 year career with the Nova Scotia
Department of Environment. John was an avid sportsman who loved
hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time at his camp.
«Annie Meagher’s little boy» was a Harley man who
loved the open road. John and Heather enjoyed life to the fullest and
travelled extensively on the bike and in their camper, though their
favorite place was close to home at Seabreeze Campground at Fox Island
surrounded by their grandchildren. He was grateful everyday that his
life had been enriched by his 22+ year journey with Bill
W.
John is survived by the love of his life, and best friend,
Heather, and her children, Steven (Marilee), Sandra, Sheila
(Kimberly); granddaughters, Nevaeh, Serenity, and Peyton who he loved
«to the moon and back» and grandson, Jordan, in his own
words «he is the apple of my eye.» sisters, Marilyn (Bob)
McAvoy, Bernadette Nash, Claire (Gerard) Delorey, Sharon (Barry)
Cavicchi, Theresa (Andre) Levangie; brother, Ernie (Donna) Meagher;
nieces, nephew, a large extended family, and daughter, Heidi. John
will be missed dearly by his best feline friend «Archie
Meagher».
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Guysborough. In keeping with John’s
wishes there will be no formal visitation or service. Donations in
John’s name can be made to The Bikers Down Society, Bikers
Down provides financial & emotional support to Nova Scotian
Bikers and their families after a collision has occurred while

Guysborough/Antigonish Palliative Care, Continuing Care, EHS Services
