Obituary for Joanne Grimble
It is with much sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Joanne Grimble on August 20, 2021. Joanne was born on July 20, 1934, in Australia, and emigrated to Canada in her 30’s. Joanne is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Lindsay and Clare Grimble; her niece, Michelle Bone (Lewis) and grandnieces Emily and Georgia, and her nephew, Colin Grimble (Sue) and grandnephews Sean and Lachlan, all of whom reside in Australia. Joanne was lovingly called up by her family. Joanne worked for most of her career as a Law Clerk in Toronto. She loved travelling, cycling, downhill skiing, and tennis where she met many of her close friends. Joanne loved classical music and theatre and fed her keen intellect by attending various lecture series through institutions associated with Toronto universities. She served for many years on the board of George Brown College Senior’s Association. Joanne was a bright, well-read, and informed woman who was fiercely independent and self-reliant until her death. She had a good sense of humour and did not hesitate to speak her mind, and was respected and loved by her family and many friends. Friends will be notified of a future Celebration of Life.
