It is with heavy hearts and overwhelming sadness that the family of the late Joan Samms of Grand Bank announce her passing at the Dr. S. Beckley Health Centre, Thursday, July 29th, 2021 at the age of 70.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories are her husband, William (Bill) of 25 years; sons, Corey Edwards and Burney Edwards of Alberta; daughters, Lisa Coater (Jamie) and Suanne Cox (Steven) of Alberta; sisters, Dolsie Banister and Georgina Rodway; brother, Philip (Effie) Hillier; mother in-law, Emma Samms; sisters-in-law, Brenda; nephew, Ernest; aunt, Greta Samms; best friends, Beulah Smith, Shirley Bungay, Karen & Claude and Bruce & Brenda Wooden; best friend and hairdresser, Valarie Russell; special fur-baby, Nicky; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; plus a large circle of relatives and friends.
Joan was pre-deceased by her parents, Simeon & Susy Hillier; father in-law, Clifford Samms.
The Samms Family will accept visitors at Wiseman’s Funeral Home in Grand Bank on Thursday, July 29th, 2021 from 7:00pm – 9:00pm and on Friday & Saturday, July 30th & 30st, 2021, 2:00pm – 4:00pm & 7:00pm – 9:00pm In order to maintain social distancing and to follow the public health advisory of COVID 19, a walk through visitation will take place with a maximum of 25 people at any one time is permitted. As per COVID 19 regulations, everyone is asked to sign the contact tracing sheet upon entering the building and masks are required. Please note that there is no food or beverages permitted in the building.
In keeping with Joan’s wishes, cremation will take place after the visitation.
In lieu of flowers The Samms Family would greatly appreciate any donations to help with the funeral expenses, but flowers will be gratefully accepted.
