J. Nelson’s Obituary
THIMOT, J. Nelson – Age 93, of Dartmouth, formerly of Church Point, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021 in Oakwood Terrace, Dartmouth. Born in Saulnierville, he was a son of the late Leo and Lina (Amirault) Thimot.
Nelson was employed as a heavy equipment operator with Peninsula Contracting and Standard Paving. He was an avid gardener, carpenter and a killer card player. He was an animal lover especially his dog, Kiser.
Nelson is survived by his wife, Marie, Dartmouth; children, Daniel (Judith), New Germany; Francis (Maria), Edwin (Heather), Paulette (Mark) Simonsen, and Darren (Cheryl), all of Dartmouth; nine grandchildren; five great-granddaughters and one great-grandson. He was predeceased by a great-granddaughter; brothers, Edward and Charles; sisters, Hattie, Hazel.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Meteghan Funeral Home. A public graveside service will be held in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Saulnierville at a later date where burial will follow.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of C-Unit at Oakwood Terrace, especially Tina and Rachel.
