Obituary of Irene George
Passed peacefully away surrounded by her loving family at Callingwood Downs Retirement Complex, Clarke’s Beach on Saturday, March 20, 2021, Irene George of Carbonear, age 80 years.
Predeceased by parents: James and Mary; sister: Catherine.
Leaving to mourn, four sons: Terry (Melissa), Barry, Angelo, and Darryl (Michelle); five grandchildren: Megan (Tena), Chauntel, Wesley (Crystal), and Koady; three great-grandchildren: KC, Eve-Marie, and Greyson; two brothers: Clem (Paula) and James (Gladys); one sister: Nancy (Christopher) Churchill; also a large number of other relatives and friends.
Irene was a kind and devoted catholic, devoting her life to God and her family. She spent her younger years as a teacher and mother. Irene was known for her compassion and devotion to her friends. She spoke kindly of everyone she met and was adored by those who had the privilege to know her. She is now in the Kingdom of God where she will be rewarded with eternal peace.
Due to pandemic restrictions, there will be no visitation. A private funeral service will take place on Monday, March 22 from Noel’s Memorial Chapel, Carbonear, followed by interment in the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Turk’s Cove. As an expression of sympathy, donations in her memory may be made to St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Parish, P.O. Box 429, Carbonear, NL, A1Y 1B8.
