IRENE MARIE McGOGY (SCHEILBLER)
August 10, 1933 – June 3, 2021
Lovingly remembered by family and friends, it is with great sadness we share that Irene Marie McGogy (Scheibler) passed away quietly on the morning of June 3, 2021 at Princess Court where she lived for the past 6 years.
Irene was born on August 10, 1933 in Beausajour, Manitoba to Olga (Dreff) and Bill Scheibler (pre-deceased). She was the oldest of 4 children; pre-deceased by sisters Doreen Gamble (Fred) and Jackie Wesley (Wayne) and only surviving brother Edward Scheibler (Carol ). Irene met Ellis Kirtland McGogy while working at Wickens Camp Lodge and married in 1955. They had two children, son Richard (Brenda and her children Erin Skene and Jeremy Meeks) and daughter Cindy. Irene loved her 4 grandchildren; Clinton (Rachel), Kirtland (Courtenay), Lhasaja (Connor Johnson), Kelsey (Merlin Smith) and 5 great grandchildren Saber, Ava, Emma, Walker and Jackson.
Irene’s love for children showed throughout her life with caring for many children both family, friends and neighbors. Irene had many talent including being a nurse’s aide in Port Arthur. She worked at a Dry Cleaners and Butcher’s Shop both in Dryden. She had a very sweet spot in her heart for all kinds of animals. She loved bird watching, doing crafts and playing cards with her dearest friends Orise Langlais and Leona Church. Irene had a special relationship with her sisters as sisters do. She loved her picnic time with her family as they were some of her earliest childhood memories that continued throughout her life. She will be missed by brother Ed and Carol and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
