Obituary of Hubert Murray EVERETT

February 21, 2021 – Calgary, Alberta
Murray Everett, beloved husband of Joan Everett (nee Turner), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 86 years.
Murray was born in Port Arthur, ON on October 5, 1934. He was the only child of Hubert and Irene. Murray married Joan on June 2, 1961. They were happily married for fifty-nine years and in 1962, they moved to Calgary, AB. Murray was an Insurance Adjuster. He travelled throughout Alberta during his career. He especially enjoyed the time he spent working for State Farm Insurance. Murray’s favourite hobby was kayaking. He could often be found off the coast of Nanaimo taking in the beautiful sights. He also loved spending time in Fish Creek Provincial Park. Photography was also one of Murray’s passions. His favourite things to photograph included the many birds and wildlife found in Fish Creek and Carburn Park. Murray’s favourite vacation was spending Christmas with his family in Hawaii. He also enjoyed the cruise he took with his wife Joan through the Mediterranean, especially their time spent in Rome. Murray will be remembered for his beaming bright smile and merry laughter.
Besides his loving wife Joan, Murray is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Jill and Derek Gaume and Margo and Gary Taylor; two grandchildren, Jordan and Matthew Neilson; and two step-grandchildren, MacKenzie and Matt Taylor. Murray is also survived by his brother-in-law Sid (Barbara) Turner of Victoria, BC, and his nephew Scott Turner and family in Vancouver.
Murray was predeceased by his parents, Hubert and Irene and infant son Ian.
