July 28, 1928 – March 4, 2021
With sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Hubert after a courageous battle with cancer, while at A.R.C.H in Sault Ste. Marie. Beloved husband of the late Vera Joyce (nee Hill) for 60 years and Margaret Arla (nee King). Predeceased by his parents Thomas and Lillian Smith and siblings Ruth Bradley (late Gordon), Beatrice Tucker (late Ernest), Francis Ruspic (late Richard), Robert and William. Survived by siblings Joseph (Sophie), Darlene and Linda. Cherished father of the late Richard (Dorothy) of Cambridge and Gary (Deborah) of Sudbury. Proud grandpa and papa of Michael, Derek, Nicole, Shawn and Kevin. Great grandfather of 7 and great great grandfather of 3.
Hubert worked for the MNR for 30 years as an Account Supervisor. After his retirement he enjoyed wintering in Florida. He volunteered much of his time towards different events and causes throughout North Eastern Ontario.
Proud member of the Bruce Mines Royal Canadian Legion Branch #211, the Thessalon IOOF as well as a long-time member of the Sault Ste. Marie Legion Band.
The family wishes to thank the staff at SAH and A.R.C.H for their compassionate care.
