It is with deep sadness and much love that we say Goodbye to my husband Marvin, father and grandfather on Friday, March 5, 2021. He passed away suddenly but peacefully.
He was born on July 26, 1937 in Lillydale, Saskatchewan near Maidstone. As an infant they moved to Rosthern, Saskatchewan as a young child. The family then moved to Laniwicki, Saskatchewan where he grew up on a farm attending a country school until he left home at a young age to work. He lived and worked in Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg and back to Saskatoon where he met his wife Mary Anne. Who he married and moved to Edmonton, where they celebrated 52 years of marriage.
He leaves behind to mourn his wife Mary Anne; sons Mark (Greta) and Darryl; grandchildren Aleshia, Arabella, Aryana, Marcus and Samuel. Siblings Terry, Harriet, Archie, Sally (Eugene) Betty and Mary. He was predeceased by his parents Mike and Annie; siblings Helen (Pete), Joe (Elsie), Theresa (Bernie), Jean (Jake), Orest (Helen); infants Peter and Leonard; brothers in-law Felix, Leo, Bernie, Jake, Steve and Morris; sisters in-law Sylvia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin spent his life working in construction, building homes, working for CNB and later years as a Construction Superintendent.
Marvin had a great love and passion for country music with an incredible memory of the artists and songs recording much music. He enjoyed golfing, went on numerous trips to the US for golfing and bus tours to Bronson, Mis, Grassland and making the last trip to Nashville – Ry Theatre and Dollywood.
After retiring he ended up with dementia in LTC at Jubilee Lodge for 6 ½ years.
Following Marv’s wishes, he will be cremated with no service at this time due to Covid-19. RIP
