HAMPEL, Henry Ernest
The Hampel family is sad to announce the passing of Henry, on Monday, September 27, 2021, at Clear Lake, Arnstein. He was 93 years old. Henry was predeceased by his wife June (McVeety) (1931-2012). He was the beloved father of Theresa “Terri” Haley (Greg) of Sudbury and Rod Hampel (Chrissy) of Arnstein. Grandpa will be lovingly remembered by three grandchildren: Krista Hampel (Marc Culin), Jamee Lemon (Aedon) and Scott Hampel (Tara); and eight great-grandchildren: Ellah, Averie, Halle, Jayden, Dylan, Kirystyn, Lily and Shaylynn. He was “like a grandpa” to Ethan and Amelia. Henry was the dear brother of Edith Alphonse (late John) of Arnstein and Lillian Barber (late Cameron) of Toronto and was predeceased by his siblings Adena Pilkey (late Glenn), Marie Hampel, Beatrice Hampel, Lewis Hampel (late Dane), Fred Hampel (late Ella) and Nora Moreau (late Andy). The Hampel family will receive visitors at the Arnstein Community Centre Rink, on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Masks must be worn and physical distancing must be maintained. A private funeral service will be followed by interment at Arnstein Cemetery. The Hampel family would like to acknowledge the wonderful care extended to Henry by Kevin and Pauline of the Argyle Nursing Station; to Allan Elliot who chauffeured Henry to appointments for years without fail; to Linda Berger for her exceptional kindness and care in Henry’s home; and paramedics Luc and Ryan who often visited with Henry over the years.
