It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Hedwig (Hedy) Brenneisen at
The Westbury Care Home on July 29th, 2021.
Loving wife of Harald, who preceded her in death in 2004. She leaves behind her devoted daughters, Monika (Bryan) and Anita (John). She will be missed deeply by her dear sister Mary (Alvin, deceased), cherished nephew Fred (Janet) and great nephew and niece Connor and Bridget, of whom she was very proud. Hedy will also be missed by her extended family, friends and neighbours.
Born in Putshen, Czechoslovakia, on July 8th, 1932, she moved to Canada with her sister Mary in 1953, where she met her soulmate, Harald. Hedy turned her attention to being a full-time Homemaker on the birth of their daughters, spending all her time and energy caring for her family.
Hedy loved to bake and will be remembered fondly for her sponge cake and cookies.
An accomplished dancer, it is of comfort to know she is now in the arms of her dance partner Harald, along with her parents Hedwig and Franz Höpfler, sister Anna (Herbert) and her niece Helen.
A special thank you to the Mississauga Trillium Hospital and Westbury Care Home for all their support and care.
Due to Covid restrictions, a private service will be held at St Gregory’s Catholic Church.
In memory of Hedwig, donations can be made to her favourite charities, St Joseph Hospital Foundation, Mississauga Trillium Health Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice.
