Harold Lloyd Peverill 19292021

Harold Lloyd Peverill
1929-2021
Harold Lloyd Peverill
– age 91, of Kentville, formerly of Bedford, passed away
peacefully on Thursday, February 11,
2021, in the Valley Regional Hospital,
Kentville. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Louis Earl and Edna
M. Peverill. For those who knew Harold and spent time with his
family, it’s hoped you can fill the void his absence creates with personal
memories of times spent together. Dad had a full and rewarding
life. After 32 years of hard work and sleepless
nights
while on call in the Bedford hub – later moving to the Halifax office
– he
retired from the former Maritime Telephone & Telegraph Co.,
(«MT&T»). Harold had a passion for cars.
He owned and drove at least 35 in his
lifetime. He and his then wife «Margie» (Margaret E.
Misener – 1931-2005) loved travelling – crossing Canada, twice to
California, then to Florida annually for many
years. Harold also loved working in his ‘shop’. Some of the
contraptions he would come up with displayed his
engineering. Harold even built the family’s first of many fully
enclosed travel trailers. This was the beginning of his
extensive experience and skill towing trailers as
long
as 42′. He made his family very
proud. Harold was able to spend the last more than 42 years in
the Valley, where they always wished to
be. He is survived by his loving companion/partner of more
than 14 years, Beverly A. Arenburg, Kentville, NS. Bev was by Harold’s
side six to seven hours a day, EVERY day for the last 34 days
as well as previous hospital stays. She was his rock and
full-time caregiver, even amongst hospital staff. He is
also survived by daughter; Hope Ann (Frank) Peverill-Eliasen, Windsor, Ont.;
son, Steve (Barbara), Cambridge, Kings Co., NS; three grandchildren,
Leah Peverill, Centerville, NS, Erik (Amanda)
Eliasen, Amherstburg, Ont.; Jesse (Lisa) Eliasen,
Stratford, Ont.; three great-grandchildren, Ont. as
well as nephew Reid Bond, Eastern Passage,
NS. Harold’s remaining children’s great
memories: His 2nd daughter Hope, recalls
several adventures with her dad, including many camping trips all
around Nova Scotia. His son Steve recalls the many
trips he (8-13 years old then) and his father would ‘brave’ on their
l’il Yamaha scooter. His sister Hope always would remind Steve of it
always about being adventurous. He was predeceased by his eldest
daughter, Linda S. Peverill in 1983, followed much later by his wife,
Margaret «Margie» Elaine Peverill (Misener) in 2005. They’d
been married 55 years. A usual response from Harold,
whenever he was asked how he was doing, was «I guess so.»
– we still haven’t figured that
out. There will be no visitation, by the family’s
request. A memorial service for Harold will be held at a later date
when it is much safer to do so. The family also wish to give
great thanks to the doctors and many nurses who cared for Harold since
late last fall. While waiting for his Lord to lift him up, he was kept
in warm, comfortable peace. Even so, Harold will be forever
missed and remembered. «Love you
Dad.» Donations in memory may be made to Acadia Divinity
College, Crandall University or the Kentville United Baptist Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
