Grace Mitchell
1939-2021
LAKEVILLE, NB – Grace Mitchell, 81, of Lakeside
Estates, Lakeville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family
at the Moncton Hospital on Saturday, September 25th, 2021. Born in
Galloway, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Essie (Walsh)
Mitchell. Grace was very proud to have graduated from a secretarial
program through NBCC Moncton. She worked various jobs throughout her
lifetime. She loved to travel and enjoyed visiting Barbados, Florida
and Alberta. She enjoyed shopping , yard sales, cross border
shopping and most importantly loved spending time
with her grandchildren and family.
Grace leaves to mourn her son and daughter in law, Terry
& Carolyn Mitchell of Alberta; as well as her six
grandchildren, Michael, Tanton, Nathan, Tatiana, Dawn and Lisa and her
four great grandchildren, Chloe, Aiden, Trenton and
Owen.
Grace will also be sadly missed by her two sisters, Faye
Mitton (John) of Moncton and Laveran Powers (Brian) of Riverview; two
brothers, Leonard (Margaret) of Galloway and Wilbert (Miriam) of
Alberta; sister-in-law, Rita Mitchell of Bryant’s Corner; as
well as by her many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Grace was predeceased by her
fiancé, Ralph Westcott; her daughter, Lorraine Short; and
her four brothers, infant Claude, Kenneth, Lloyd and
Douglas.
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home,
Richibucto on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until time of service. A funeral
service will be celebrated at Thompson’s Funeral Home
Chapel, Richibucto on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 at 4:00pm,
officiated by Monette Gould and followed by interment at the West
Galloway Cemetery.
If so desired, donations in Grace’s memory may be
made to the West Galloway Cemetery.
A maximum of 50 people at a time will be allowed in the
funeral home during visitation and a maximum of 50 people will be
allowed to assist to the chapel service. Visitors will be required to
provide proof of vaccination and government issued ID at the funeral
home, masks are mandatory and we ask that social distancing is
respected at all times.
The service will be live streamed via Facebook from the
Thompson’s Funeral Home page.
