Obituary Gordon (Gordie) Donald Morris
It is with great sadness the family of the late Gordon (Gordie) Donald Morris announce his passing on April 2, 2021 at the age of 77. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, Lorraine (Brenton), loving father to George (Debbie) of Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, Betty (Sandy) of Miramichi, NB, Brenda of Vancouver BC, and Jennifer (Glynn) of Carberry MB, he passed away with his family by his side at the Labrador Health Centre.
Gordie was a much loved Poppy to Robyn (Douglas) of Red Deer, Dylon (Billie-Dawn) of Wabush, Troy (Katlyn) of Moncton, Laura of Vancouver, and Jacob of Winnipeg, and Great Grandson Kim of Moncton, he was also a special papa to Kristen Hamel of St.George’s. He also leaves behind his grand pups who he loved dearly, especially his little buddy Elmo.
Gordie survived by his brothers Phillip, Herb, Ernie (Gloria) sister Hilda (Cecil), Uncle Joe (Debbie) Goudie, Aunt Grace Hope, Aunt Vena Goudie, Special sister in-law Brenda Green, close friend George Way, in-laws in Burin NL and his extended White family from Mudlake, and many nieces and nephews.
Gordie was pre-deceased by his parents Marie and Warren Morris, in-laws Tom and Rosie Brenton, brothers Bob and Dave, sisters Cathy, Doreen, Elsie, Nita and his son in-law Kim Chubbs.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Labrador Health Center and especially nurses Kara, Diane, Shawna, Chrysta and Joey for the wonderful care and support they showed dad and our family in the past few months.
Due to covid-19 restrictions a private service for family and invited guest will take place at the Royal Canadian Legion at a later date.
