Gerri Lynn Cote-Cyr

After a courageous battle with breast cancer, we sadly announce the passing of Gerri Lynn Cote (Gerilyn) on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at the age of 46 years.
Gerri leaves to cherish her memory, her children; Theoren (TJ) Constant, Nikki Constant and Ashlyn Cote-Squire; granddaughter Everly Constant; sisters Charisse Cyr and Tiffany Cote-McKay; her other dad Rick McKay, who helped raise her and loved her dearly; her loving mother, Erla Cote. She will also be dearly missed by her siblings Amy Cyr, Colton Cyr, Lacey Cyr and Zachary Cyr; numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles. She was predeceased by her father, Charlie Cyr; her grandparents Maude Cote, Jim Mentuck, Alice Cyr, George Longman, and numerous relatives.
Gerri lived life to the fullest and made many friends across the country as she traveled to powwows, ball tournaments and hockey tournaments. She was known for her beautiful smile, bright eyes and kind heart. You could always spot Gerri in a crowd because of her brightly colored clothes or by her hats and boots. Her fashion sense was like none other. She had a love for animals, especially dogs. You could find her hanging with her friends, socializing, and dancing at the clubs or cruising the streets on Sunday nights. Gerri had a group of special friends that adored and loved her.
The family would like to thank all those who brought food, donations, and shared memories during our sacred fire. Special thanks to Sheldon and Angie Cote for hosting, sharing their home and backyard, drumming, singing, and praying for Gerri’s journey home.
We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from those that visited during her celebration of life. The many messages of condolences filled our hearts with love and memories and helped us through this difficult time.
Gerri’s wishes were to have no formal service and for cremation to take place. In lieu of flowers a donation to www.saverezdogs.com would be greatly appreciated.
We little knew that day,
Creator was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day Creator called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as Creator calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
