Geremia passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 30th at the age of 94, surrounded by his family.
He was born on April 23rd, 1927, in Cimitile (Naples) Italy, and immigrated to Vancouver on July 16, 1963, with his wife Emilia, and his 5 daughters, Rosa, Carmela, Felicia, Francesca, and Anna. They later had 2 sons, Pasquale and Francesco. The family then moved to Burnaby where they lived for the last 58 years.
Geremia is predeceased by his loving wife Emilia, his daughter, Felicia and son-in-law Bruce, and son Francesco (deceased 1974). He is survived by his loving children Rosa (Luigi), Carmela (Giuseppe), Francesca (Alfonso), Anna (Ben) and son Pasquale (Adriana) and 21 Grandchildren and 26+ Great-Grandchildren, who brought him so much joy and happiness, and who he loved with all his heart! Geremia is also survived by his sister-in-law Michelina, and many nieces and nephews from both his wife Emilia’s and from the Balletta families.
Both Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be closed to family only due to COVID restrictions. Visitation will be held at, Kearney’s funeral home located at 4715 Hastings Street, Burnaby, on Sunday, June 6th from 6 – 8 pm.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 7th at 11am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 555 Slocan Street in Vancouver. A private entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park. The Mass will be live-streamed at: www.youtube.com/c/olosvancouver.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Cottage Hospice in Vancouver for the wonderful care they provided for him these past few weeks.
