Gerald’s Obituary
DAVIDSON, Gerald Vernon ~ Age 95, Berwick, Kings Co., passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 18, 2021, in Wolfville Nursing Home, Wolfville. Gerald was born in Aylesford in 1925, to the late Vernon and Margaret “Maude” (Magee) Davidson. He spent his youth working on the family farm and doing various odd jobs. Gerald always loved to travel and liked spending time with his brother in Toronto before marrying his wife, Betty, back in the Annapolis Valley. Shortly after, they left home and spent time in Miami and Chicago before settling in Los Angeles, where they stayed for almost half a century until Betty’s ill health brought them back ‘home’ in 2005. He was a unique individual, a tinkerer, and a hoarder who prided himself on his individuality and independence. Gerald loved sharing his stories of California days – movie stars, riots, earthquakes, and travels around the area with anyone who would listen. He was always up to date on the news of the day. Gerald was predeceased by wife, the former Elizabeth Ramey; sister, Ruth (Fred) Bligh; brother, Arnold (Freda). Surviving are nieces, Lorraine (Ted) Corkum and Judith (Keith) Clark and their families. There will be no visitation. A graveside service for family members will take place in Aylesford Union Cemetery, with Rev. John Moses officiating. Donations in his memory may be made to Valley Regional Hospital Foundation or to Wolfville Nursing Home. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Burgoyne and all the staff at Wolfville Nursing Home for the excellent, kind and compassionate care Gerald received while there.
