Gerald «Gerry»‘s Obituary
HUDSON, Gerald George – 76 of Shelburne passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 16, 2021, he had been able to stay in his home up until the last couple hours when he was admitted to the Roseway Hospital ER Department. Gerald (Gerry) was a son of the late Gerald David and Elsie Dorothy (MacKeil) Hudson.
Gerry loved woodworking in his “Shop” which gave him immeasurable joy & fulfillment. He was a member of the singing group “Sound of Men”, a very active member of the Baptist Church of Shelburne, a member of the Lions Club and was a King Lion at one time. Gerry was active in the Youth Group at the IOOF Hall in Barrington and loved the woods and being outdoors. He also loved to spend time talking to friends and family. He didn’t have a bad word to say about anybody and always took people for face value.
Sharon was his love, his children were his pride and joy. Jesus his passion, the gospel his conviction, his faith was his legacy, and Heaven his assurance.
Survived by his loving wife Sharon; children; Annette (Donnie), Darren (Suzy); step-children; Dana (Shauna), Dwayne (Janet), Debbie (Marshall), Jason (Terri-Lynn); grandchild; Richard; step-grandchildren; Jevin, Andrew, Kyra, Jenevra, Jasmine, Matt, Tessa, Tenika and Tashianna; step-greatgrandchildren; Brent, Eianna and Lincoln. He is also survived by siblings; George (Ruth), John (Gladys), Frederick (Wendy), David (Linda), Charles and sister Helen (Bub).
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters; Shirley, Donna and Darlene.
Arrangements are under the direction of H.M. Huskilsons Funeral Home in Shelburne, where a visitation will take place Thursday March 18th from 6-8 pm, Memorial Service will be held on Friday March 19th at 2:00 pm from Huskilson’s funeral chapel in Shelburne. Due to Covid-19 restrictions seating at the service will be given priority to family and social distancing and the wearing of mask will be in place.
Sharon would like to extend a thank you from the bottom of her heart to the VON, Continuing Care, Respite and any friends or family that have helped out during Gerry’s illness. Thanks to Doctors, Hathaway and Doctor Jacqueline d’Eon and the Nurses at the Roseway ER department for their thoughtfulness and compassion. Without all these people she doesn’t know how she could have done it.
