Gerald Alexander Swords

Age 85, Cheticamp, formerly of Welland, Ont., passed away on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 in Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, Cheticamp. He was a son to the late Frank Sr. and the late Adella (Pilkey).
Gerald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. Dad was a people person. He loved social gatherings and being around family. He also enjoyed fishing, baseball (he never missed a Blue Jays game) and driving (any excuse to go out driving).
Besides his loving wife, Alice (Ingraham) Swords, he is survived by daughters, Geraldine (John Mans), Cheticamp, N.S., and Dianna (Robert Chalmers), Welland, Ont.; grandchildren, Jennifer (Ron), Hamilton, Ont., Bradley (Heather), Nicole (Ken), Christopher (Nancy), all of Welland, Ont.; great grandchildren, Travis, Hunter, Hailey, and Hudson.
Gerald was predeceased by brothers, John, Frank, Paul and Raymond; sisters, Helen, Rita and Mary; great granddaughter, Hope.
The family would like to thank Dr. Saliba and the Oncology nurses at the Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital, Cheticamp Palliative Care, Dr. Ritter, and Moira Chiasson and R.N. Jean from the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, and all the Home Care Workers for the kindness and care they showed our Dad and our family.
Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID 19, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Cheticamp Palliative Care, P.O.Box 129, Cheticamp, N.S. B0E1H0.
