LINTON: Garth – It is with profound sadness and disbelief that we announce Garth’s passing. He died quietly on June 30, 2021 one day after his 74th birthday at the Guelph General Hospital, with his wife and daughters by his side. This painful, three-week ordeal of surgery and subsequent complications is over, and he is at rest.
Loving and much-loved husband of Arden. Cherished father of Stephanie & Scott Mosselman and Rachel & Chad Kropf. Precious Bubba to Madelyn, Georgia, Arjen and Eli, who will miss him greatly. Big brother to Gail (Dean), Brenda (Clare), Lynn (Bill) and Scott (Brenda). Also remembered and loved by his Aunt Nanci, Aunt Shirley and Uncle Chris, many cousins, nieces and nephews, and Arden’s family.
Predeceased by his parents Gord & Jean Linton and brother Allan.
Garth played Old Timer’s Hockey and Slo-Pitch and loved all sports. He was a lifelong Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan. Hope springs eternal.
Garth ruled with an iron fist and a marshmallow heart. He leaves behind many friends in St. Catharines and New Hamburg. “The Bird” filled the hockey net and our hearts.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service. Garth was never one for formalities… he just wanted us to have a big party and celebrate life and friendship. That is what we will do at a later date.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Donkey Sanctuary of Canada or to Jumpstart and would be appreciated by the family.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, Hew Hamburg. Personal condolences can be posted at www.markjutzifuneralhomes.ca
