Gabrielle Lacey Dwyer,
Born March 1, 2003, passed away suddenly on December 18, 2021, in her 19th year, devastating all that knew and loved her.
Gabrielle, or Ella as her family and friends knew her, was an avid animal lover and advocate, had a talent and passion for both working with, training and riding horses and even trained the family dog to jump like a horse on courses she made in the backyard. She loved her grandparent’s hobby farm in New Brunswick and their funny goats, chickens and ducks. And when she visited, she made arrangements herself to continue her riding skills by trading stable hand work for riding time at a neighbouring farm.
Her love of horses first started on a family vacation trail ride when she was only 6 years old but became her passion at 12 when she started riding lessons at Equestrian Arts where she shined with a natural talent. Ella volunteered both at Equestrian Arts, absorbing all she could from everyone there, and at The Pony Rescue where she cared for higher needs rescue ponies.
Ella was a kind and gentle soul (except when playfully rough-housing with her two older sisters) who gave great hugs, huge smiles and witty retorts easily. She was quiet but never failed to sparkle with a cheeky glint in her eye.
Ella recently moved to London Ontario to live with her best friend, Jaelyn and attend college where she was studying to become a PSW while working as a stable hand at Springer Horse Farm where her boss would often find her cuddling with the horses when her work was done.
Gabrielle is survived by her grandparents, Sonja Elkerton, Mike Lethbridge and John Dwyer, her parents Sean and Ingrid Dwyer, her sisters, Abbey and Theresa Dwyer (John), and chosen sister Angela (Ben), her uncles Vince Dwyer (Jenn) and children, Michael Elkerton, Michael Lethbridge, James Lethbridge (Carrie)and children, Ryan Cossitt (Karen) and children, aunt Nicole Doss (Braden) and child, and nieces, Ava, Brooke and nephew Lance, and God parents Laura Lang (Michael) and Nelson Pinheiro, and her best friend and roommate Jaelynn Griffin, and her beloved, Hobi, the family dog.
Predeceased by her nan, Mary Dwyer.
Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas St., Cambridge, where family and friends will be received on Wednesday December 29, 2021 from 1-4 & 6-9p.m. A private family funeral will be held. Cremation will follow.
